Paul’s letter to the Ephesians has always been a popular one for believers. It offered to the early Christians necessary guidance on Christian thought and devotion. We continue to need truth about the role of grace and unity, devotion and daily living in a culture that would try to disable our commitment to Kingdom principles. We’ll turn our attention to chapter 5 this Sunday and explore this all-important idea of our “Christian walk.” How do we manage all aspects of our lives and still enjoy a moment-by-moment victorious experience as Jesus followers? God’s Word provides all the essential information we need to “love God, love our neighbors and to love in action.” The letter is only 6 chapters in length and can be read in 10 minutes. Of course, one could spend a year in Ephesians to investigate the rich teaching found there. I encourage all of us to read and re-read this letter as we approach our corporate worship this Sunday. We will be reminded of the great passages around predestination, grace, the mystery of the Gospel, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and the armor of God. Paul encouraged the men and women of Ephesus to “look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.”
