IMG_2109Our Mission & Vision

How does a group of Christ-followers determine what their mission is? To begin with, what did Jesus say to us in the Bible about our mission? The Bible holds the key to identifying who we are and why we exist. It might be tempting to factor in what our culture would want us to be. However,  staying faithful to the Biblical text is always the goal of those who follow the Lord of the Church, Jesus Christ.

Vision and Values

Our Mandate to help the world know and follow Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8-9).

Our Missionto be a community of Christ-followers devoted to demonstrating Christ’s truth and grace (Ephesians 4:11-13).

Our Values –are foundational and non-negotiable to help us fulfill God’s mandate and our mission.

  • Commitment to Transformation – (Romans 8:29; Ephesians 4:22-24) The pursuit of Christ-likeness requires a movement from conversion and salvation to progressive sanctification and maturity through spiritual disciplines and Christian education. Certainly the Holy Spirit is vital to this transformation, but we also have a role. We must become more and more like Jesus. As disciples of Christ, we help others become like Him also.    See the  Spiritual Growth Assessment
  • Commitment to Biblical Teaching – (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Dependence on the infallible Word of God. The scriptures serve as our supreme source of truth. Each of us has a responsibility to know and apply the Word of God to our lives.  See the  Bible Literacy Quiz
  • Commitment to Christian Community (Ephesians 4:11-16) – pursuing and practicing a biblical approach to life together as the body of Christ. Protecting unity, avoiding gossip, encouraging growth, caring for each other, holding one another to God’s standards.
  • Commitment to Biblical Stewardship – (Luke 16) This includes our mind, body, finances, resources, and time – all of these belong to God. Our responsibility is to use them for His glory and for His purposes, both in and outside the church.
  • Commitment to a Missional Lifestyle – (Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:11-21; Ephesians 2:10)   – 24/7 missionary calling– pursuing and practicing a lifestyle of being a “blessing to the nations” (Genesis 12:1-3). Every interaction and relationship is an opportunity to serve as Christ’s ambassador. Our activity in the community is as valuable as service in the church.
